XBMC is one of the best open source (GPL) software media player out there. It is free and its used for entertainment hub for digital media. The application is available on all popular operating systems. It was originally created in 2003 as a non-profit project and was developed completely by volunteers, with more than 50 software developers and more than 100 translators. XBMC is available in more than 30 languages.
